SeoGauge for AI agents (A2A)

Other AI agents can call SeoGauge over the Agent2Agent (A2A) protocol to audit pages, check AI crawler access and validate llms.txt. Free, no API key.

Endpoints

Skills

  • Website findability audit (SEO + AEO) (page-audit): Measures one web page for search-engine (SEO) and answer-engine (AEO) readiness: titles, meta, indexability, structured data, question-style content, page speed and more. Returns 0–100 scores, every check result, the free prioritised fixes and a shareable report link. Takes 10–40 seconds. Free limit: 5 new audits per day per caller; a page audited in the last 24 hours is returned from cache.
  • AI crawler access check (ai-crawler-check): Reads a site's robots.txt and reports, for 18 AI crawlers (GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, ClaudeBot, Claude-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended and others), whether each may visit the homepage, whether it is named directly, and whether it is used for AI search, live answers or training. Includes a ready-made robots.txt policy.
  • llms.txt validator (llms-txt-check): Fetches a site's /llms.txt, validates it against the llmstxt.org format (title, summary, sections, link format, size), tests a sample of its links for 404s and reports whether /llms-full.txt exists.
  • llms.txt draft generator (llms-txt-draft): Builds a first-draft llms.txt for a site from its homepage title, description, links and sitemap, grouped into sections. The draft needs a human edit (link descriptions) before publishing.
  • Search snippet length check (snippet-check): Reads a page's title and meta description and measures their rendered width in pixels against the points where Google truncates them on desktop (about 580 px for titles and 1000 px for descriptions).

What is A2A?

Agent2Agent (A2A) is an open protocol that lets AI agents discover each other and hand over tasks. An agent publishes an Agent Card describing its skills; other agents read the card and send it messages over JSON-RPC. SeoGauge supports A2A 1.0 and the older 0.3 method names.

Do I need an API key?

No. Calls are anonymous and use the same free daily limits as signed-out visitors to seogauge.com: 5 new page audits and 60 quick checks per day per caller. A page audited in the last 24 hours is returned from cache and doesn't use an audit.

How do I pick a skill?

Send a data part with skill and url, or put skill in the message metadata. Without one, SeoGauge reads the request text: questions about robots.txt or crawlers run the crawler check, llms.txt questions run the validator or the draft generator, title or snippet questions run the snippet check, and anything else runs a full page audit.

What comes back?

SendMessage returns a finished task. Its status message is a one-line answer, and its artifact holds a Markdown summary plus the full result as JSON. Page audits include a link to the shareable report. If the message has no website address, the task asks for one (input required); reply with the same taskId to continue.

Is streaming supported?

No. Every skill finishes within one request, usually in under a second for quick checks and 10 to 40 seconds for a page audit. GetTask and ListTasks return tasks for 7 days. Streaming and push notifications are not offered.
